The Honeysuckle Room
The house, originally constructed in Victorian times, was substantially extended in the 1930’s and in common with many properties from this time on Arran has adopted some of the prevailing Strathclyde Arts and Crafts style interiors; it therefore seemed appropriate to decorate with an early William Morris ‘Honeysuckle’ wallpaper from which the room has been named.
A bright southern facing room with views towards ‘The Giants Graves’ a set of Neolithic standing stones on the forested hill of Torran Loisgte. The bedroom features a king-sized brass bed and stripped floor with Turkish-style rugs. The room’s fabric-including original fireplace- has been left intact with the wallpaper complimented by F&B’s ‘Matchstick’ within the bedroom and ‘Brinjal’ in the adjoining en-suite bathroom.
Honeysuckle has been set up to be entirely self-contained with feather and velvet-upholstered Dutch Indonesian style chairs to provide comfort and enjoyment of the light southerly aspect.
